Know Before You Go

  • How to Dress: Dress code should be according to the season & the weather forecast. Especially in the summer, bring a sun hat, sun lotion, and sunglasses. Please wear comfortable shoes. Sneakers and other kinds of sports shoes are acceptable as well. Please bring an extra layer of clothing and a hat.
    Shoes: We advise you to wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • Cash or Card: Kindly note that payment by credit/debit cards is not possible everywhere in the country. For your personal expenses, food, drinks, and use of toilet facilities, we recommend bringing leva in cash with you.
    (Paying by card is not always possible. Traventuria strongly recommends bringing cash for personal expenses!)
  • Food: There are a few gas stations and small shops along the way where you can buy food, but it’s good to be prepared in advance by bringing a snack with you. This tour is long and exhausting, and dining options will be limited.

07:00 Departure from Vasil Levski Monument (Embassy of Slovakia) meeting point.

Meet us at Vasil Levski Monument, in front of the Embassy of Slovakia (LINK to the meeting point on Google Maps).
Please, arrive at the meeting point at least 10 min earlier. The bus departs at 07:00 am sharp and does NOT wait for any late passengers.

09:30 Arrival in Kazanlak town

After a 2.5-hour drive, you will arrive in the town of Kazanlak. Enjoy a tour through the rose fields and grab the opportunity to take some great photos.

11:00 Arrival at the Ethnographic Complex “Damascena”

A guided visit to the beautiful Russian Orthodox style church of the Nativity by the town of Shipka and if time allows climbing to the Shipka peak for great panoramic views.

16:00 Heading to Koprivshtitsa town

Taking on a route between the Balkan and Sredna Gora Mountain heading to Koprvishtitsa – small town showcasing the Bulgarian Renaissance architecture in a perfect picture sceneries.

17:00 Arrival in Koprivshtitsa (guided tour of the town)
