We took the tour of Plovdiv, Starosel, and Staro Zhelezareya, which we found very interesting, but experiencing it with our guide Bibiana made it truly special. It was clear she loved what she did and didn't just repeat information; she managed to convey the city's history in an entertaining, engaging, and meaningful way.

We traveled to the Rila Monastery with them. The bus was comfortable and punctual. The lady did not run out of words during the trip. Since she spoke Spanish, she did not give us much, but most of the group appreciated it. 😉 There were several options to choose from on the website and it was a surprise for us that we missed the "Park of Bells" on the way, which is a very interesting place, so we visited it the day before. I was afraid that we would not have enough time to see everything in Rila, but we had no problem, we visited the monastery. Anyone who wanted to could also go to the St. Ivan's Cave, but we skipped it, because then there would have been really little time.

Appalling service. They sell reserved seats on their website but no reservation through Get Your Guide. As a result, you turn up on the day, and your seats are already taken. Me and my wife had to sit separated for the entire journey. The tour guide, Juliana, was really condescending and unhelpful. Don’t use this travel agent.

We took 3in1 tour to Bells tower, Boyana church and Rila monestery. The trip is really well organised, enough time at each site, bus comfortable and air conditioned. Driver Peter and guide Lubo were absolutely great!! Lubo gave as lots of information about the sights and more. Highely recommended!

I had a fantastic day exploring the Seven Rila Lakes and Rila Monastery with Megi as our guide. It was one of the highlights of my time travelling Europe.

The Seven Rila Lakes were stunning. The hike takes you through epic mountain scenery, with each viewpoint offering something different. Kidney Lake was my favourite, with the surrounding peaks and lakes creating an unforgettable landscape. The trail does have some steep and rocky sections, so it is worth being prepared with suitable shoes and a reasonable level of fitness, plus a couple bottles of water. Also wear sunscreen and a hat if doing it in summer (the uv is higher at altitude).

Megi was a great guide throughout the day. She was friendly, attentive and clearly experienced with the terrain. I appreciated that she kept the group together and made sure everyone was comfortable along the way.

The visit to Rila Monastery was also a highlight. The colourful frescoes, striped arches and mountain setting were incredible to see in person.
Overall, it was a memorable day that combined nature, culture and history. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sofia.

This was the first time in 35 years that I booked an organized tour. I had never done it before, so I didn't know what to expect. But I enjoyed my day with Traventuria so much!

Our guide, Maria, was a wonderful and pleasant lady who created a warm and friendly atmosphere among the group. She guided us through the entire day with ease, making everything enjoyable and stress-free.

I absolutely loved my day in Plovdiv. I also appreciated that the tour offered different options during the day, allowing everyone to choose what suited them best—whether to spend the whole day exploring Plovdiv or visit another nearby village. That flexibility was a great idea.

Everything ran like clockwork, and the whole experience was perfectly organized.

I also joined another Traventuria tour on Saturday: to Rila Monastery and Boyana Church. Once again, I had a wonderful experience!

Our guide, Svetlozar, was excellent as well. From the moment we boarded the bus, he kept us engaged by sharing interesting facts and stories over the microphone throughout the journey. It made the drive both enjoyable and informative. As a lovely surprise, at the end of the tour he even took us to The Bells Park in Sofia, which I really appreciated. Once again, everything was perfectly organized and ran like clockwork.

The only suggestion I have is regarding the amount of free time at Rila Monastery. We had only about 40 minutes there, which simply wasn't enough to fully enjoy everything the site has to offer. There are several places worth visiting - the church, the museum, the tower, the bakery, and the souvenir shops - and because there were queues everywhere, I didn't even have time to visit the museum. I also noticed on the map that there's a beautiful cemetery next to the monastery, but unfortunately I couldn't see that either.

I would definitely welcome a tour that allows at least two hours of free time at Rila Monastery. I wouldn't mind to start earlier I t is such a remarkable place that deserves to be explored at a more relaxed pace.

I can highly recommend Traventuria to anyone looking for a well-organized and enjoyable tour 🙂

Our guide, Lubo, was very kind and spoke clear English, repeating important things several times to make sure everyone understood. Along the way, we stopped at Boyana Church (open to those who had booked) and we all got out because it's an area with basic services. After that, we headed to Rila. An Italian-language guide (via smartphone) is available, but it wasn't much help to us because Lubo gave us a general overview of the essentials. Afterward, we went to Ivan's Caves (only for those who had booked). Although very beautiful but narrow, it was still evocative. If you don't feel like continuing, you can turn back. Finally, before heading back, we returned to Rila Monastery to pick up those who had remained there. A word of advice: spend more time at the monastery, though it's very beautiful and large. We didn't get to see the museum; maybe next time. Kudos to the driver; navigating those roads isn't for everyone; he was very attentive and friendly.
Recommended trip!

I had a great tour to Veliko Tarnovo with Traventuria.
And Ivan was a brilliant guide whose rich storytelling about the medieval fortress and the old imperial bulgarian capital made the history so vivid.

It starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 8 p.m. It's absolutely worth visiting Plodvid, a very beautiful and charming city. We were very comfortable with our guide, Bibiana (who speaks Spanish). We also took two other tours. Bibiana is a delight; it was a pleasure to take the tour with her.

The only complaint we had was the air conditioning on the bus. It wasn’t working properly, so it got quite hot during the journey. Everything else was great though.

Excellent tour! Everything was very well organized, and the guide Martin was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Bulgaria's history. Plovdiv was beautiful, with its charming Old Town and fascinating Roman ruins, while Koprivshtitsa was a real highlight, full of colorful historic houses and authentic Bulgarian character.

We absolutely loved our trip the Orthodox Church, Rose Valley, and Buzludzha monument. What made the trip particularly memorable was the guide, Martin, who was not only an expert in all of the history and culture around the trip, but was an overall kind and caring guide and fun to talk to throughout the journey. We found the company organization to also be great, with them sending us a message the night before telling us who would be the guide, where we’d be picked up, and what the registration of the bus would be. All of the buses were also branded with the Traventuria logo, which made everything seem very official. We would love to come back some day and have Martin as our guide and do another Traventuria tour!

Booked a tour for 7 Rla lakes with Megi. The tour was amazing. Because the tour included hiking, for some people it was a little challenging, but the guide was patient and adapted for the pace of the group and didn't lose the sight of nobody. Fantastic tours of Rila Monastery, Boyana Church, and the children's/bells memorial. Hristo was amazing, so much knowledge and personal experience. There is a dress code (no exposed knees or shoulders) I didn't see prior and fee was slightly off (6.14euro, not 6 as advertised) for the monastery. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful tour with Christo and Stan to Boyana Church and Rila Monastery. Everything was very well organized, and they made the day enjoyable from start to finish.
Christo is an excellent guide. He explains the history in a clear and engaging way, and what made the tour even more special was how he included personal experiences and stories. I especially enjoyed hearing about the time Pope John Paul II visited Bulgaria, which made the history feel much more alive and meaningful.
As a bonus, they also took us to the Bells Park, a fascinating place with bells donated by countries from all over the world during the communist era. It was an unexpected stop that added even more value to the day.
Stan was a great driver, and we felt safe and comfortable throughout the journey.
We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bulgaria. Thank you both for a fantastic day!

Bus service not to be trusted!! Twice in a week it went to a different pickup location than indicated on whatsapp. First time the whatsapp to driver didnt work, so I had to pay for privat driver from another company. Second time I was able to contact driver.

We took two trips with this company.
The one to Rila Monastery, including the climb to the cave, was perfect, and our guide, Krasimira, was delightful, with excellent knowledge, kindness, and enthusiasm. The bus, although a bit old, was adequate for its purpose.

The other trip we took was to Plovdiv, a Thracian village and a city of street art. Our guide, Bibiana, was also lovely and had a very good knowledge of the route, but the trip involved many unnecessary kilometers. The other two visits were uninteresting and prevented us from seeing Plovdiv. To top it all off, we had to backtrack to pick up those who hadn't visited these two villages, so we spent a large part of the day on the bus, which, by the way, didn't have working air conditioning.

I booked a shared shuttle with Traventuria from Sofia Airport to Bansko for €34. The booking process was smooth, and the company provided WhatsApp updates, the driver’s number, and a live vehicle tracker, which initially gave me confidence in the service.

Unfortunately, the actual experience was very disappointing. I was instructed to be outside the terminal at 7:00 PM and warned that if I wasn’t there, the shuttle could leave without me and no refund would be given.

I was informed that the shuttle was waiting for a flight from Hamburg, but that flight had already landed earlier than planned. Despite this, the shuttle still arrived more than an hour late.

During that time, neither the company nor the driver responded to calls or WhatsApp messages, leaving me and the other passengers standing outside the terminal for over an hour with no idea what was happening or whether the shuttle was still coming. At one point, we even started wondering if we had been forgotten.

When the shuttle finally arrived, it was a very crowded minivan with passengers squeezed into small seats and very little personal space. The ride to Bansko (over 2 hours) was uncomfortable, almost sitting on a strangers lap with no space to move. The driver was friendly, but communication was difficult as he did not speak English. Also he used the phone several times during driving.

Overall, the combination of the long wait, poor communication, overcrowded vehicle, and uncomfortable journey made this a frustrating experience. I would not book this shuttle service again and would recommend considering alternative transport options.

The Seven Rila Lakes tour was the highlight of my trip to Bulgaria. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and every step of the hike was worth it.

I bought from Get Your Guide app this excursion to Rila Monastery and to Ivan Rilsky cave and i honestly didn't expect a so adventurous experience climbing through a narrow passage to the cave. I am very happy with this new memory I built. I appreciated the guide skills (Vely) and the punctuality of all the journey starting from the picking up just in front of my hotel. i just wished that when booking i had the options to book both the excursion to the cave and the entrance to the boyana church, and not just one of them, considering the stop at both was anyway foreseen.

My sister and I booked a trip to the 7 Rila Lakes with Traventuria, on the 9th of June and it was fantastic. Our guide, Megi (Angelova), was absolutely brilliant — incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and an excellent communicator in both Bulgarian and English. She took great care of everyone in the group and managed to cater to all needs and preferences.

The group was mixed in age and fitness levels, and Megi was the perfect gauge of the pace, making sure the experience worked for all. She was so encouraging and got us safely to the top and back, even with the slightly tricky conditions.

Our driver was also warm, friendly, and added to the positive experience.

Overall, the whole trip was just brilliant — well worth the achy muscles afterwards. I highly recommend Traventuria and especially Megi!

Let's start with the positive points: Hristo is the perfect guide. Hristo is a great guide! He’s not one of those robotic, cold guides who only give basic information, he explains everything in detail and adds fun facts that help you remember the history of the places. Also, a big thank you to Rosen, who drove us safely from Sofia to Rila and back. Five stars to both of them for their great company! 🌟

The only negative point (and the reason why I gave 4 stars) is that the bus is not comfortable. If you think Ryanair seats are bad, this bus will actually make you miss them. There’s less place for legs, so if you’re taller than 1.75–1.80m, having 3-4 hour ride is a real challenge. There are no charging ports for your phone and no toilet either (not the end of the world, but it would have been a nice bonus). Traventuria could consider upgrading this bus for a more comfortable travel experience.

Overall, I highly recommend this tour if you are in Sofia and want to discover these beautiful heritage sites! 🙂

I had a wonderful time on the tour of Plovdiv and Koprivshtitsa. It was a lot of walking on cobblestone type streets and it was very hilly but very worthwhile. Our tour guide Martin was knowledgeable and flexible (when he could be flexible) and his English was excellent. Last year, I went on a tour of The Seven Rila Lakes with this agency. I was delighted with the guide and the professional organization. This year, I went to the Rila Monastery with Boyana Church. Our guide, Hristo, was fantastic, his stories were interesting and engaging; without him, it would be difficult to appreciate these UNESCO World Heritage gems. Our day trip to Boqna Church and Rila Monastery was a wonderful experience.

Unfortunately, our online registration didn't work.

So we went directly to the office. There, we were greeted by a very nice and friendly man. Although he wasn't actually responsible for bookings and the other employees had already finished for the day, he took care of us in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, explained everything in detail, and registered us for the trip.

The next day, we were picked up right near our hotel.

The bus driver and the tour guide were also very friendly and attentive. During our conversation with the tour guide, we learned that the nice man was actually the director of the company; we hadn't met him by chance.

It was a wonderful and unforgettable trip with very warm, professional, and dedicated staff.

I wholeheartedly recommend this travel agency!

Traventuria went above and beyond - delivering not only two astonishing world heritage sites , but an extra stop or two. Really good, concise and lively information from the guide. Would recommend this tour 100%. Tip - do book the option with Boyana church. You may not be able to spend long inside - but the experience is astonishing. If you just book Rila - you won’t be able to add Boyana at the last moment as the site is too tiny to take extra visitors.

We booked a day trip to the Rila Monastery and the Church of Boyana. Not only are these UNESCO sites worthwhile, but so is the beautiful scenery along the way. Our guide, Todor, did not limit himself to explanations at the monuments but also shared a lot of information about Bulgarian history and culture with us along the way, delivered with good pacing and the necessary humor—very enjoyable. Everything was also well organized and communicated in terms of practical aspects. The only downside: Bulgarian buses are for short people… Fortunately, the breathtaking content compensated for this practical inconvenience of the trip.

The church of Boyana is beautiful on itself, but the monastery and cave are something different with the outstanding paintings and the special story of hermit St John/Ivan. Make sure you book the whole package, otherwise you’ll have to wait a bit longer or won’t be able to visit the church (which is a great loss)

We had an unforgettable winter hike with Traventuria to the Seven Rila Lakes, led by our excellent tour leader Yordan. Despite very snowy and challenging weather conditions, the tour was extremely well managed and felt safe and enjoyable throughout.
Because of the deep snow and winter conditions, we managed to visit 4 of the 7 lakes, which was absolutely the right call. Yordan’s judgment and experience really showed here — safety was always the top priority, without taking away from the adventure or the sense of achievement. The hike took around 4 hours and was demanding but incredibly rewarding.
Yordan was professional, supportive, and encouraging the entire time, making sure everyone in the group was comfortable and coping well with the conditions. He shared useful information about the area and kept a great pace given the weather, while maintaining a positive and motivating attitude.
If you’re looking for a well-organized winter hike with experienced guides who genuinely care about the group, I highly recommend Traventuria — and especially Yordan. It was a challenging but memorable experience and one of the highlights of our trip.

this tour company, Traventuria, is super professional & offers seamless tours at economical prices. Having travelled to many countries in Europe, it’s my first experience that they offer a real tour guide, plus an audio smart guide. The smart guide, which they sent out the previous evening, is so useful to help us prepare for the journey. It gives very comprehensive information about the history, background, details of the sites, local visit recommendations, general lifestyle, etc. We can pre-listen & study all information at our leisure time, or on the bus, & don’t have to fumble with listening on the clumsy device or on cell phones while busy taking pictures. My tour was on 24 Oct, which was really special, as there was non-stop heavy thunderstorm, the whole time we were in Veliko Tarnovo, at one point, there was severe windstorm & hailstones for 15 minutes. our guide Martin was especially lively & with good humor to keep the group in good spirits, despite everyone was soaked from head to tail. It was really a unique experience. Although all photos are dark & grey, & I missed some sights due to the rain. Martin is really nice & takes care of everyone. The driver is very good & the van is big & comfortable with only 6 guests.

We had a tour to Plovdiv today, we met at 8:45 and the bus left at 9:00 AM. Our tour guide Maria was very nice and knowledgeable. She gave us the history of Plovdiv and pointed out places of historical value as we were leaving Sofia. We opted for the guided tour which was just enough to get a nice overview. After the guided tour we had about 2 hours of free time enough to have lunch and do a little shopping. Overall great tour.
