Know Before You Go
- Hiking: The hiking route is moderate to very arduous, with some short stages rather steep. Some parts of the trail pass through stones.
- How to dress: Dress according to the season & the weather forecast. Don’t forget a windproof and waterproof jacket or raincoat. Shoes: Please wear comfortable hiking shoes. Sneakers and other kinds of sports shoes are acceptable as well. Please bring an extra layer of clothing and a hat. High heels and flip-flops are NOT acceptable!
- Cash or Card: Payment by card at the Yastrebets lift is possible. However, it is very important to have cash in Bulgarian leva (BGN) prepared for personal expenses like food, drinks, and use of toilet facilities.
- Food: Bring a light snack for the hike and a bottle of water! There are two huts along the way where you can have lunch. Please be prepared with cash in Bulgarian leva (BGN) so you can pay at the huts with ease.

Tour Plan
07:00 Departure from Vasil Levski Monument (Embassy of Slovakia) meeting point.
Meet us at Vasil Levski Monument, in front of the Embassy of Slovakia (LINK to the meeting point on Google Maps).
Please, arrive at the meeting point at least 10 min earlier. The bus departs at 07:00 am sharp and does NOT wait for any late passengers.
08:30: Arrival in Borovets resort.
After an approximate one and a half-hour drive, we will reach the Borovets resort, where we’ll take the Yastrebets cable lift.
09:00 Start of the hike
We’ll reach the upper station, where the hiking begins.
15:30: You’ll be back at the upper cable car station
16:00: Departure back to Sofia
17:00 Arrival at Vasil Levski Monument (Embassy of Slovakia) - back at the tour meeting point
