Know Before You Go
- How to Dress: Koprivshtitsa is more than 1000 meters above sea level in the mountains. We advise you to bring additional layers even during the summer.
(In the summer, the temperature in Plovdiv reaches over 40°C. Traventuria advice: Bring a sun hat, sun lotion, and sunglasses.)
Shoes: We advise you to wear comfortable walking shoes as most of the streets in Koprivshtitsa and the Old town of Plovdiv are cobbled. - Cash or Card: Kindly note that paying by credit/debit card is possible at some restaurants, cafes, and stores, but not everywhere. We recommend bringing leva (BGN) in cash with you.
- Food: Plovdiv is a melting pot of different cultures and arts. In the center, you will find many of those different nuances in the fine restaurants and street foods, especially in the area of Kapana, near the mosque. If you want to spend all of your free tim,e you will not regret exploring the center of the city, we advise you to bring your own snacks or try some new tastes. In the city center, you will find a variety of options - from modern restaurants to small local shops and fast food.

08:00 Departure from Vasil Levski Monument (Embassy of Slovakia)
Meet us at the Vasil Levski Monument, in front of the Embassy of Slovakia (LINK to the meeting point on Google Maps).
Please, arrive at the meeting point at least 10 minutes earlier. The bus departs at 08:00 am sharp and does NOT wait for any late passengers.

08:00-10:00 Transfer to the city of Plovdiv
You will travel in a comfortable minibus or coach for about 2 hours on the highway to Plovdiv. The journey takes you through rolling hills, lush valleys, and vast agricultural lands with charming villages.
10:00-12:00 Guided walk of Plovdiv's Old town
A guided tour of Plovdiv’s Old Town is a fantastic way to explore one of Europe’s oldest cities, rich in history, culture, and stunning architecture.
Some of the walking tour highlights are:

13:30-15:30 Transfer from Plovdiv to Koprivshtitsa
A 2-hour transfer from Plovdiv to the town of Koprivshtitsa. Enjoy the views of the Bulgarian countryside.
15:30-17:00 Guided visit of the Koprivshtitsa town
Enjoy a guided walk through the town of Koprivshtitsa. Learn more about the Bulgarian fighters for liberation and their lives. Discover all the houses, museums, and interesting stories behind them. Enjoy a 30-minute free time in town for gift shopping or just walking at your own pace.
17:00-19:00 Transfer from Koprivshtitsa to Sofia - Vasil Levski Monument (Embassy of Slovakia) meeting point
The trip back to Sofia is approximately a 2-hour drive. This is the most scenic part of the trip. The road passes along the valleys between the rolling hills of Sredna Gora and the majestic Balkan Mountains.
* Please note that the program (depending on the guide’s decision (based on the day of the week, weather conditions, etc.) may be executed the other way around, starting from Koprivshtitsa.
